Caitlin Winfield RVN

Caitlin joined Honddu in September 2019 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in the spring of 2023. She was born and raised in Glasbury. In her spare time she enjoys meeting up with family and friends and being outdoors especially by the river with her labrador Bonnie

Laura Ferguson RVN

Laura spent some time quite a few years ago seeing practice as a work experience student.  She then started her veterinary nursing career in 2012 at Bush House Veterinary Group.  She then qualified as a veterinary nurse in November 2017 and started working at Honddu in December 2018.  Laura has twin boys who keep her very busy outside of work.

Beccie Crossman RVN

Qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2003 after studying with the College of Animal Welfare.  Beccie moved to Brecon seven years ago from London, where she had worked in various veterinary surgeries across London and Hertfordshire for 36 years, whilst bringing up her five children.  Beccie particularly enjoys small animal work, especially cats, dogs and small furries.

Sophie Jones RVN

Sophie joined Honddu in 2010 as a receptionist which then lead on to qualifying as a veterinary nurse in 2017. Born and raised on the family farm in Merthyr Cynog but now settled on a family farm in Crai with her husband and children. She has a keen interest in anything large animal related, caesareans in particular.  Also enjoys helping with wounds and bandaging.  In her spare time Sophie enjoys helping out on both family farms and baking.

Hannah Williams BVSc MRCVS

Hannah qualified from Bristol in 2001. After a brief stint at mixed practice in Devon, Hannah chose to become a small animal vet. She later worked in Warwickshire and Worcestershire for over a decade before joining Honddu in 2018. Hannah is at her happiest at home, with her dog, cats, husband and daughter (not necessarily in that order!) 

Pippa Wollen BVSc MRCVS

Pippa grew up in Herefordshire and qualified from Liverpool University in 2023 and has been with Honddu Vets ever since. Pippa has a particular interest in goat medicine and surgery. When not working Pippa enjoys exploring the Brecon Beacons with her dog Olive or competing her horse Lia.

Kate Pursey BVM BVS MRCVS

Qualified as a vet from Nottingham University in 2013.  She started her veterinary career in a large, mixed animal practice in Bridgend and then decided to move closer to home and joined Honddu vets in 2015.  Kate loves nearly all aspects of her job, particularly the variation of the work, travelling around the countryside and meeting new people.

Ruth Stephens BVMS MRCVS

Qualified as a vet from Glasgow University in 1983.  Born and raised in Somerset on the family farm.  Married a local farmer and living in Brecon.  Ruth has three grown up children.  She is most interested in small animal surgery and loves spending her time in the operating theatre.  In her spare time she enjoys Ballroom dancing and baking.

Helen Jones BVSc MRCVS

Helen grew up in Gloucestershire and studied Veterinary Medicine at Liverpool University, qualifying in July 2018 and joining Honddu soon after. Helen enjoys all aspects of mixed practice, particularly being out and about in the beautiful countryside. When not at work Helen enjoys walking her two terriers, Copper and Todd, when they choose to behave, as well as going for the odd run and swim.

Huw Jones BVSc MRCVS

Huw was born in Denbigh in North Wales, and grew up on the family’s dairy, beef and sheep farm. After qualifying as a vet from Liverpool in 1995 he spent 2 years practising in Camarthen, 4 years in his home town Denbigh, a few months in Kojonup, Western Australia, and a few months in Knighton before coming to Brecon to practice in 2004.
